After reading all the great reviews on this nursing tank I went to Target to try them on… and I’ll be honest — I was really disappointed. I did purchase two (one light gray and one white) but it really is a case of ‘you get what you pay for.’ Why?

We’ll start out with the positives — it’s only $[...] and the fabric isn’t terrible. It’s soft and the white isn’t terribly see-through. The straps are wider than most nursing tanks (including the Glamourmom). Glamourmom’s fabric is a little thicker, a little sturdier and a little nicer… but again, you’re paying half of what you’d pay for a GM tank.

The negatives? Well, first of all, the shelf bra isn’t supportive in the slightest. I’m not insanely large but at a 36 C/D, I’m fairly busty when nursing. Comparing it to other bras (including the Bravado nursing bras I have), it’s almost like not wearing a bra at all…. not something you want to experience when you’re that large. Also, I don’t know who designed this bra but the holes for your nipples are HUGE. My entire breast actually fits through the hole, making the coverage it provides very minimal. It also means that it’s almost impossible to wear a nursing pad in it, as the holes are bigger than the silly nursing pads I have are actually smaller than the holes in the silly bra. It’s not terribly short but it has enough spandex that it rides up — I wish it was a little longer to help hold in that post-baby tummy.

So, honestly, you get what you pay for. Is it as nice as the Glamourmom tanks I own? No. It’s not supportive, the bra portion is ill-conceived… it’s not long enough and some people may be uncomfortable wearing this alone because of the poor design of the bra. Will I purchase more than two? No. I purchased these primarily to wear underneath clothing in the winter/spring months in Florida… and I’ll be using my GM tanks in the summer when dressing in layers will be way too hot to handle. If I could have, I would have given it 2.5 stars solely because of the price. Honestly, it just doesn’t provide enough support for me to give it any more.

As a first time mom, nursing didn’t come that natural to me and I needed all the help I could get. These tank tops have allowed me to nurse in public without worrying about if I am exposing myself completely. I wear one of these tank tops under any shirt, sweater, or sweatshirt and it’s so nice to be able to lift up my outer shirt without having to expose my post pregnancy belly. Even when I went back to work it was easy to use my breast pump when wearing one of tank tops. I have one in every color!

tank is comfy, adjustable straps, true to size, opaque fabric with a decent weight/thickness to it, and has one-handed snap for convenience. primary downside with the black color is its tendency to retain/catch lint, which shows up easily. i didn’t have this problem with the other colors.

Out of all the Gilligan & O’Malley nursing tanks, this one by far is the best! I bought 10 of them because I wear them everyday!!

Not supportive enough for day wear for the larger chested nursing mom. The straps are thin, and can dig in. It works great for sleeping though!
